Asoka is cooling, bitter, astringent, restoring complexion, and is stiptic. It matures and balances the Doshas in Ayurveda. One of the 3 herbs connected with the Goddess Parvathy, this herb has long mystical tradition for its usefulness in treating most uterine disorders and diseases of blood.
Action:- Astringent and tonic used specially in uterine haemorrhage or disorders.
Uses:- Its use is specially favoured in menstrual disorders particularly in irregular haemorrhage as an astringent tonic. It is also given in combination with Iron salts as a pill or in liquid form.
This pure dried Ashoka bark can be made into a tea by steeping for 10 minutes in hot water. The bark can be re used 3 times if carefully dried between use.
